He explained that invention is a discovery and an interest in people. When asked what inspired him to come up with the flat hair curlers, he said, "I always saw my friends walking around with hair curlers in their hair.
"I saw celebrities coming out in public with hair curlers attached to their clothes and I thought, 'Why not just spread it out and stick it on?'" he explained.
He continued, "It's a discovery in daily life, not a grand invention," and added, "When I become a grandmother, my children will use it and say, 'That was something I made.'
"It would be funny if I said, 'I was so angry,'" he said with a laugh. Meanwhile, Ku Hye Sun graduated from the Department of Visual Arts at Sungkyunkwan University in February last year, and entered the Graduate School of Science Journalism at KAIST in June of the same year, earning a Master's degree in Engineering.
Recently, he unveiled the patent for the "expandable hair curler" he developed himself, and announced that he had become the CEO of a venture company.
