Minister Yoon conducted a comprehensive inspection of the Hwabaek Convention Center (HICO) and the Gyeongju Expo Park area, where he met with North Gyeongsang Province, Gyeongju City, the APEC Preparation Planning Team, the Security and Security Control Team, and the Joint Government.
Minister Yoon received a report on the current status of APEC safety measures during his visit to Gyeongju Expo Park, and explained the current status of medical response and safety measures.

The delegation visited the center one by one and inspected the results of the improvement measures taken for the issues pointed out during the preliminary inspection last month. They also inspected the emergency evacuation routes, electrical and firefighting facilities, access control systems, elevators, and other facilities for events.
After the inspection, we held a meeting with business associations and people involved in the accommodation and restaurant industries to check on price control measures during the APEC period and to promote friendliness.
Minister Yoon said, "This Gyeongju APEC will be held in Gyeongju, a thousand-year-old capital, to showcase the taste, charm, beauty and strength of the Republic of Korea.
"It is a milestone event. I ask that all local governments and residents across the country, including those in North Gyeongsang Province and Gyeongju City, who are putting in their utmost efforts, give their enthusiastic support and encouragement."
