The Incheon District Court Criminal Appeal Division 1-3 (presiding judge: Chief Judge Jang Min-seok) announced the sentence the day before for the indictment of the defendant on charges of defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act.
The final hearing was held for Defendant A, a former YouTuber. Prior to this, the first trial sentenced Defendant A to two years in prison, suspended for three years, with 120 hours of community service and a fine of approximately 200 million won.

"The crime is heinous in that it earned 200 million won in profits," he said. In his final statement, defendant A said, "I didn't think that creating a video by compiling the posted text and comments would be a crime.
"I now understand it clearly," he said. "My former identity has been made public, and I am living with the stigma. I am enduring it even while receiving psychiatric treatment. I will do my best to live as a good member of society."
"Please give me a chance," he pleaded tearfully. From October 2021 to June 2023, Defendant A posted videos of celebrities and flu-related content on his YouTube channel "Escape from Otaku Camp."
He was indicted on charges of posting approximately 20 false videos to the viewers. The unconfirmed claim was that "Jang Won Young was jealous, so his fellow trainees were unable to debut."
He produced provocative videos, even allegations of prostitution and plastic surgery, and operated a paid membership system. Investigations have revealed that he earned 250 million won over a two-year period.
The appeal hearing will be held on the 11th of next month.
