BOYNEXTDOOR achieves career high on first day of comeback...ranks 2nd in Melon's ”TOP 100”
BOYNEXTDOOR achieved a career high from the very first day of their comeback.
BOYNEXTDOOR (Sungho, Liu, Myung Jaehyun, Taesang, Ihwan, Eunhak) released their 5th mini-album ‘The Action’ at 6pm on the 20th. The title track ‘Hollywood Action’ reached number two on MelOn's Top 100 chart at midnight on the 21st. Having entered at number 11 just after its release at 7pm on the 20th and climbing the rankings, it set a new personal best for the group.
The album's other tracks also demonstrated fierce momentum. ‘As Time Goes By’ (5th), ‘Live In Paris’ (7th), ‘Bathroom’ (9th), and ‘JAM!’ (11th) all ranked within the upper echelons of the ‘Top 100’ at midnight on the 21st, firing off hit signals. Furthermore, their digital single ‘IF I SAY, I LOVE YOU’, released earlier this year, also saw a sharp rise in position, comfortably settling at number 10. Existing album title track ‘I Feel Good’ and ‘Ruin My Life’ – the OST for TVING's original drama ‘Switch Love 4’ performed by BOYNEXTDOOR – also re-entered the charts, reflecting the high level of interest in the group.
The album is also performing strongly. According to the album sales tracking site Hanteo Chart on the 21st, BOYNEXTDOOR's new release sold 636,002 copies on its release day alone, securing the number one spot on the daily album chart dated the 20th. They have now achieved the extraordinary feat of five consecutive albums, from their 1st mini-album ‘WHY..’ to this new release, topping the same chart on their release day.
The global music market is also paying attention. As of 9:00 AM on the 21st, ‘The Action’ appeared on the iTunes Top Albums chart in 13 countries/regions including the US, Japan, Germany, Brazil, Australia, and Indonesia, and reached number one in four countries/regions: Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, and Kenya. ‘Hollywood Action’ entered at number 4 on Japan's major music site LINE MUSIC's real-time chart Song Top 100 (as of 2:00 am on the 21st).
BOYNEXTDOOR are scheduled to perform their new song on stage during appearances on Mnet's M COUNTDOWN on the 23rd, KBS2's MUSIC BANK on the 24th, MBC's Show! Music Core on the 25th, and SBS's Inkigayo on the 26th. Given the group's reputation for strong stage performances, it is anticipated that their chart positions will accelerate their upward trend following these music programme broadcasts.
