On the 29th (today), SM Entertainment (hereinafter referred to as SM Entertainment) announced their position regarding the non-performance of the complete group "EXO".
Below, SM Entertainment) teased EXO's December full-group fan meeting, but CHEN and BAEK are currently in conflict with SM Entertainment.
HYUN and XIUMIN were excluded, and the reason behind this was of interest. Rather, member LAY, who is currently active in China, is planning to move on to full-group activities.
The decision to join the group has led to further comparisons. EXO-CBX's management office INB100 released a statement on the 28th, saying, "As a member of EXO, we will continue to promote the group as a whole in the interest of our fans.
"We have made this promise to everyone and are making every effort to achieve this," he said, explaining the situation. Meanwhile, the various civil and criminal lawsuits and actions that EXO-CBX had filed against SM up until now have been resolved.
It was revealed that all administrative proceedings were dismissed or concluded without any charges. In June 2023, EXO-CBX requested SM Entertainment to terminate their exclusive contract, citing it as an unfair long-term contract.
At the time, the two parties agreed that EXO's group activities would be under SM Entertainment, and that individual and unit activities would be under EXO-CBX's personal label INB100.
XO-CBX agreed to pay 10% of the sales from their individual activities to SM Entertainment. However, EXO-CBX did not fulfill this obligation and announced at a press conference in June 2024 that they would not be paying the amount.
SM Entertainment has breached its promise to guarantee a 5.5% distribution commission rate for albums and music, which was a prerequisite for the agreement, and is demanding 10% of sales from individual activities.
It will be interesting to see if they will be able to continue working as members of EXO.
