It was revealed that all administrative proceedings were dismissed or concluded without any charges. In June 2023, EXO-CBX requested SM Entertainment to terminate their exclusive contract, citing it as an unfair long-term contract.
At the time, the two parties agreed that EXO's group activities would be under SM Entertainment, and that individual and unit activities would be under EXO-CBX's personal label INB100.
XO-CBX agreed to pay 10% of the sales from their individual activities to SM Entertainment. However, EXO-CBX did not fulfill this obligation and announced at a press conference in June 2024 that they would not be paying the amount.
SM Entertainment has breached its promise to guarantee a 5.5% distribution commission rate for albums and music, which was a prerequisite for the agreement, and is demanding 10% of sales from individual activities.
