The musical concert "This is PESTE" was held for three days from October 31st to November 2nd at the Yonsei University auditorium in Seoul, and was based on the novel by Albert Camus.
This is the concert version of the musical "PESTE," which reinterprets the story of the plague with Seo Taiji's music. In particular, Jungwoo plays the role of Doctor Ryu, a man who is synonymous with kindness and sincerity.
The inner thoughts of a man who stands up with unwavering conviction and justice to save the city of Oran, which has fallen into chaos due to an infectious disease, are conveyed not only through his outstanding singing ability, but also through his ever-changing gazes and gestures, and through the narration that connects the flow of the play.
The three-dimensional effect created by the animation further enhanced the immersiveness of the play.
"T'AK" and the warning to the world, "I Know," are some of the most powerful and inspiring songs.
From songs with prominent vocals, to "To You," which conveys the heartfelt feelings of loved ones with a soft voice and lyrical cheers, to "Sad," which unravels the emotions of sadness and chaos with a low vocal.
With their solid ability to move between genres, they convey a variety of emotions with songs like "Severe Pain" and "COMA," as well as "TAKE FIVE" and "LIVE WIRE," which are filled with hope and prayer for peace.
He perfectly executed the song and subtly led the audience into the story. Jungwoo said, "It was a truly honorable and meaningful experience to be able to sing the music of Seo Taiji, a senior artist I respect. At first, I was very nervous, but after a long time, I was able to sing the music.
I prepared hard for a long time, so I was determined to do my best in the role I was given, just like Riyu. I was able to finish the stage well thanks to the audience who supported me until the end.
This experience has given me the opportunity to grow even more. I would like to continue to repay this by continuing to develop even more. I am always truly grateful."
Jungwoo will be attending the Seoul Olympic Park Ticket Link Library (handball competition) on the 28th of this month.
