俳優キム・ナムギル、自立準備青年10人とグループ展を無料開催…「共に生きる意味をもう一度考えてみてほしい」
Actor Kim Nam Gil holds free group exhibition with 10 young people preparing for independence... ”I want people to reconsider the meaning of living together”
Korean actor Kim Nam Gil continues to exert a positive influence. GILSTORY, a cultural and arts NGO founded by actor Kim Nam Gil, will be holding a special event at the Seoul Jongno Art Museum from the 13th to the 23rd.
A free group exhibition titled "HERE I AM" featuring 10 young artists preparing to become independent will be held at Gallery H in Insa-dong, Seoul.
GILSTORY believes that "independence is not a completed result, but a process of continuing to draw within relationships," and aims to create social solidarity through art.
The exhibition will feature Kim Sung Su, Kim Taecyeon, Park Jinsol, Bae In Hye, Seo Hwa Rang, Jang Jeong Mi, Ji Hadi, Hyoso, Hwang Sa, and others.
Ten artists, including Ran, will participate in the event. Each artist will express their personal experiences through art, exploring themes such as "home," "memory," "lack," and "growth," and will present various forms of independence.
The exhibition is designed to encourage interaction with the visitors.
You can then receive a "Log" and enjoy the artworks while walking around each floor from the basement to the third floor.
The objects can be moved and rearranged directly, and in the process the structure and lighting of the exhibition space changes. The emotions and thoughts left by the visitors are collected in the form of notes and passed on to the artists after the exhibition has ended.
During the exhibition, there will also be an experiential workshop with the participation of artists Park Jinsol, Jang Jeongmi, and Kim Sung Su. Kim Nam Gil, the company's CEO, said, "Independence does not simply mean 'living alone.'
"It doesn't mean that we are not alone. Rather than physical independence, how we emotionally accept and live through that process is more important," he said. "Our society is working together to make people feel like they are not alone."
"I believe that conveying this emotional empathy is the power that enables true independence. I hope that this exhibition will encourage people to reconsider the meaning of living together."
Meanwhile, GILSTORY is a non-profit private organization founded by Kim Nam Gil that continues to carry out public welfare campaigns to support the independence of socially disadvantaged people and young creators through art.
The "Hamke Na Gil (Advancing Together)" campaign, now in its second year, provides creative support, mentoring, and exhibition opportunities to young creators preparing for independence, promoting social solidarity through art.
The 2025 SMG SHOW - The Strongest Show in the Universe, which supports young creators preparing to become independent, will be held on the 29th at the Ewha Womans University auditorium.
