The drama ‘Will You Marry Me?’ starring Choi Woo-shik and Jung So-min concluded its run with ratings in the 9 per cent range.

According to Nielsen Korea on the 16th, the final episode (Episode 12) of the SBS Friday-Saturday drama ‘Will You Marry Me?’, broadcast the previous day, recorded a nationwide average viewership rating of 9.1%.

Set on Jeju Island, the finale depicted Kim Woo-joo (Choi Woo-shik) and Yoo Me-ri (Jung So-min), whose relationship began with a sham marriage, confirming their feelings for each other and marrying for real.

Kim Woo-joo (Seo Bum-joon), who shared the same name as Me-ri's former fiancé, prepared a press conference to expose their sham marriage, but it was thwarted by Bote Department Store.

After submitting the annulment papers for her marriage to her former fiancé, Me-ri relinquished the townhouse she had won as a Bote Department Store prize and moved out.

The greatest hurdle for Woo-joo and Meri, who have begun a new romance, is Woo-joo's grandmother, Ko Pil-nyeong (Jeon E-ri). Pil-nyeong agonises upon learning of Meri's divorce, but ultimately permits the marriage after her grandson's heartfelt persuasion. Woo-joo then proposes to Meri with a jade ring given to him by his grandmother.

‘Will You Marry Me?’ gained word-of-mouth popularity through the vibrant romance of romantic comedy masters Choi Woo-shik and Jung So-min. The drama, which started with a 5% viewership rating in its first broadcast, achieved ratings in the 9% range by its 12th episode, ending on a high note.

It notably drew attention by surpassing the ratings of tvN's ‘Typhoon Family’ (8.5%), starring Lee Junho, which was a formidable weekend drama rival.

Meanwhile, the slot following ‘Will You Marry Me?’ will air ‘Taxi Driver 3’, starring Lee Jae-hoon.
