A man in his 30s who broke into the home of Nana, a former member of the girl group "AFTERSCHOOL," has been arrested. According to the Kuri Police Station on the 17th, the man was arrested at the Uijeongbu District Court the day before.
The Namyangju branch of the police station conducted a pre-arrest interrogation (substantive warrant review) of Mr. A, who is suspected of attempted special robbery and assault, and concluded that "in light of the seriousness of the alleged crime, there are concerns that he may flee."
A is suspected of breaking into a luxury villa in Acheon-dong, Gyeonggi-do, with a weapon at around 6 a.m., threatening the resident and demanding money.
At the time, Nana and her mother were together in the house. Mr. A climbed onto the prepared ladder and onto the balcony, then opened the door that was not closed and entered, strangling Nana's mother.
Nana's management office said, "Due to the physical attack by the robber, Nana's mother was seriously injured and lost consciousness, and Nana was also able to overcome the crisis.
"They were physically injured in the process of being kicked out. Currently, both of them require treatment and absolute rest," the statement said. After a struggle, Nana and her daughter grabbed Mr. A's arm with their bare hands and prevented him from moving.
After subduing the victim, they quickly called the police. When the police and fire department arrived, Mr. A had sustained a laceration to his jaw and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
During police questioning, Mr. A stated that he had committed the crime because he did not know that the area was where celebrities lived and he did not have enough money to live on.
He will be detained and sent to the prosecutor's office once the investigation is complete.
