Veteran actor Lee Moon-soo, known for his powerful acting in such works as the tvNTV series ‘Signal’ and the film ‘Hello!? Ghost’, has passed away after a battle with lung cancer. He was 76 years old.

According to the Korea Drama Actors Association and other sources on the 29th, Lee Moon-soo passed away at a hospital in Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi Province the previous night. He was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2022 and had not been to the hospital until now.

The deceased, who graduated from Seoul Arts University, joined the National Theater Company in 1989 and was reportedly given treatment for his "ordeals" and "problematic personality disorder."

He has appeared in major productions such as ‘Yanshan’, ‘Death of a Salesman’, ‘1984’, ‘The Seagull’ and ‘King Lear’.

He has continued to work steadily in TV series and movies, appearing in the 2010 film ‘Hello!? Ghost’ and the SBS TV series ‘Lady President: Big Shot’.

He became known through these shows, and gave a particularly memorable performance in the 2016 tvNTV series ‘Signal’. In 2010, he was recognized for his achievements and received an award from the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The funeral will be held at Room 2 of the Funeral Hall at Seoul Hanyang University Hospital, the funeral procession will be at 8:20 a.m. on December 1st, and the burial will be at Eden Memorial Park.
