JTBC's weekend drama 'Tomorrow Will Surely Come' has captured viewers' attention by depicting Lee Kyung-do (Park Seo-joon) and Seo Ji-woo (Won Ji-an), who reunite following an extramarital affair scandal, becoming entangled once more in a complex relationship. Episodes 1 and 2 revealed successive 'variables' that would shake both their lives.
First, Lee Kyung-do and Seo Ji-woo's "initial encounter" left a vivid impression on both their lives. Intrigued by Kyung-do, who was visiting the university campus, Ji-woo approached him through a club recruitment fair she happened to attend.
Kyung-do, who fell for Ji-woo at first sight when he saw her sitting at the theatre club "Jirimyoryeol", became a steadfast support for Ji-woo, who was carrying loneliness.
However, at the time, Kyung-do was unaware that Ji-woo was the daughter of "Jarim Apparel" and not a fellow student at the same university. The small lie Ji-woo told would lead to intriguing developments, affecting their relationship profoundly.
Meanwhile, attention is also focused on the "affair scandal" that brought them together again and its subsequent repercussions. After nurturing a young, tender romance, the pair parted ways for certain reasons, only to be reunited through an unexpected scandal.
Having successfully divorced her husband, Ji-woo visited Kyung-do, the deputy chief of the social affairs department at the Dongwoon Daily News, to personally thank him for the article that had caused it.
Kyung-do still couldn't bring himself to discard the T-shirt filled with memories of Ji-woo, and Ji-woo, too, felt her heart warm at Kyung-do's casual remark. Though their relationship seemed faded like that old T-shirt, a faint warmth remained. Expectations grew that this reunion might reignite their feelings.
Furthermore, Kyung-do stopped Ji-woo as she prepared to leave for England, declaring, "I don't want any more fuss." This created a new sign of change in their future.
Jiwoo believed she had caused Kyungdo's life to spiral out of control once more and intended to leave Korea for his sake. However, her sister, Seo Ji-young (Lee El), who suffers from Alzheimer's, pleaded with Kyungdo to "protect my sister" in her stead, marking a major turning point in their relationship.
Driven by emotions he couldn't explain himself – lingering attachment? Love? Friendship? Human compassion? – Kyung-do prevented Ji-woo from leaving.
What exactly are Kyung-do's "true feelings"? And how will Ji-woo respond to them? All eyes are on the couple's path forward.
The continuation unfolds in Episode 3 of JTBC's weekend drama 'Tomorrow Will Surely Come', airing Saturday 13th December at 10:40pm.
