Chinese authorities forcibly evacuate residents from lockdown Shanghai ... More than 1000 people have already moved out of the city
Due to the spread of COVID-19 virus infection in Shanghai, China, there are moves to evacuate non-infected persons to neighboring provinces in some areas of Shanghai.

According to the British "BBC", this measure was taken by the infection control authorities in the Pingwang area of Shanghai. In order to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the policy is to evacuate residents to an isolated area in Zhejiang Province, which is more than 160 km away, for more than a week. Residents who have a negative PCR test result other than infants, the elderly, and people with disabilities are eligible.

Similar movements have also taken place in Beicaizhen, Shanghai, where at least 1,000 people have been evacuated from the area. Authorities say they will intensively "disinfect" the area during the evacuation period.

The lockdown in Shanghai has entered 4 weeks', and the number of infected people has exceeded 400,000. As of April 21st, the death toll was 25, most of them people with underlying illness or the elderly, officials said.

This is not the first time such forced evacuation measures have been taken in China. Earlier this year, about 9,000 residents of Shanghai's area adjacent to Hangzhou were evacuated from the centralized quarantine. Also, in January last year, measures were taken to evacuate about 20,000 people in Hebei Province.
