1 out of 5 'CEO without employees' live in 'deficit' = Korea
In South Korea, 1 out of 5 self-employed people who operate without employees are living in the red.

On October 25th, Rep. Kim Hoe-jae of the South Korean opposition party "Democratic Party" requested the National Assembly's Legislative Research Office to analyze microdata from the National Statistics Office's household trend survey for the second quarter (April-June) of this year. Among self-employed households with no employees, 21.3% had more consumption expenditure than disposable income. Disposable income is income minus non-consumption expenditures such as taxes and interest.

Looking at the status of the head of the household, the proportion of deficit households was highest among self-employed households with no employees (21.3%). This was followed by "temporary workers" (20.3%), "day laborers” (18.2%), "self-employed workers with employees" (16.5%), and "regular workers" (16.4%).
