On the afternoon of the 17th, a collision between a double-decker bus and a crane occurred on Hong Kong's Tuen Mun Expressway. The accident left 43 people injured, one seriously.
At around 1pm (local time) on the 17th, a double-decker bus traveling on Tuen Mun Highway collided with a crane truck parked on the roadside. About the rear third of the crane truck is on the left side of the first floor of the bus.
The bus came to a halt with a section pierced. The windshield on the first floor of the bus was shattered. According to a statement from the Hong Kong Police Force, the crane driver was forced off the road at the time due to a problem with the vehicle.
He had parked his car on the shoulder and called for help. The driver said he had his hazard lights on while the vehicle was stopped.
Most of the 43 injured were bus passengers, ranging in age from 19 to 88. Serious condition
The passenger was sitting at the rear of the first floor at the time of the accident. Police are currently conducting a detailed investigation into the cause of the accident.
