According to police and other sources on the 20th, at around 9:30 a.m. the day before, a passenger car that was descending a sloping curve from Cheonan Park Cemetery in Gwangdeok-myeon, Cheonan City, South Chungcheong Province, crashed off the road.
It came off and fell. The vehicle crashed into a cemetery 70 meters from the road. The car was damaged beyond recognition, and the occupants of the car, an elderly couple in their 80s, died at the scene.
The elderly couple was on their way home from visiting a grave before a mid-autumn celebration when they met with such an accident.
The car's drive recorder is old, making it impossible to check the footage, and there are security cameras nearby.
There was none. Police believe that the driver's driving errors were due to carelessness or sudden health issues, and are investigating the details of the accident.
A police official said, ``The number of visitors to graves is increasing due to mid-autumn celebrations.
"We have to be especially careful about driving safely because there is a slope."
