Japan and South Korea resume dialogue on development cooperation for the first time in six years

The Japanese and South Korean governments held a bilateral development cooperation policy meeting for the first time in six years. According to the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the 29th, the day before, Won Do Yeong of the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs (former Doyeon) of the Development Cooperation Bureau was in Honolulu, Hawaii, United States.
The 19th Japan-Korea Development Cooperation Policy Council was held in the presence of Japan's Director-General for International Cooperation, Kazuya Endo of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This was done prior to the talk. This is the first time in six years that Japan and South Korea have held a development cooperation policy council since the 18th meeting in 2017. Japan and South Korea share values and are strategic partners in the Indo-Pacific region.
They agreed that expanding their partnership can contribute to the achievement of sustainable development goals and prosperity, and decided to interact in the future to explore policy cooperation and joint cooperation projects.
