On the 9th, local government authorities reported the results of an investigation into the cause of the poisoning incident that occurred in July at a shabu-shabu restaurant in Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province, China.
At around 6 p.m. (local time) on July 11, 2023, four people, including a certain Mr. Chen, visited a mutton shabu-shabu restaurant in Zui'an, the same city. About an hour after the four of us entered the private room and started eating,
After that, two of them complained of not feeling well and left the private room. The two decided to take a rest in the car they had arrived in, but one of them reportedly lost consciousness after a while.
One person, who lost consciousness, was taken to a hospital and received treatment, but was later confirmed dead. The other three people also underwent blood tests at the hospital.
It was diagnosed as carbon monoxide poisoning. Related organizations investigated the cause of the accident and found that the four people were eating in a private room at the time, and charcoal was being used to heat the shabu-shabu pot.
. The private room is sealed with the windows closed. Although the ventilation system was in operation, insufficient ventilation caused carbon monoxide to fill the private room, causing the accident.
A settlement has already been reached between the four people and the store.
