South Korean and Peruvian leaders to strengthen cooperation in defense industry, supply chain, development and infrastructure

This year marks the 60th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between the two countries, and the two leaders met for the first time in eight years.

He continued, ``We hope to further expand mineral cooperation with Peru, which is rich in mineral resources such as copper, silver, and zinc.

Furthermore, during this meeting, President Yoon requested Peru's support for the 2030 Busan World Expo.
President Bolarte said, ``I hope that defense industrial cooperation with South Korea, which possesses high-level defense industrial technology such as the basic training aircraft (KT-1P) and multipurpose support ships, will continue to develop.''
The two leaders agreed that Peru is scheduled to become the APEC chair in 2024 and South Korea as the APEC chair in 2025, and that they will work closely together to ensure that APEC contributes to regional prosperity and sustainable growth.
