【個別インタビュー】UK(元Apeace)、除隊後初の来日イベントが決定! 「ファンの皆さんに早く会って声を聞きたいです!」
[Individual Interview] UK (formerApeace)'s first event in Japan after discharge has been decided! “I want to meet all the fans and hear their voices soon!”
Since May 2011, he has been active in a wide range of roles as Yongwook of Apeace, and has since started his career as a solo artist under the name UK (You KEI). In addition to her singing career, she also has a TV program.
While he is actively working on the group's MC and stage performances, he will return to the country after his solo live on November 25, 2021 and will enlist on May 10, 2022 to fulfill his mandatory military service. UK has been on hiatus for about 2 years.
However, to commemorate the restart of their entertainment activities, it has been decided that they will hold a performance in Japan. In his first interview after being discharged, he talked about stories with former members he met during his time in the military, highlights of the event in Japan, etc.
They answered questions about their plans for Christmas, future activities, etc. Q: Is there anything you wanted to do when you came to Japan?
UK: Yes. I felt a lot of things while I was in the military. Fa
Everyone from the group sent me a lot of letters and parcels, and seeing them reminded me that I was active as a celebrity. being in the army
, I forget that I was active as a celebrity. Therefore, my desire to please the fans at the event in Japan became even stronger, so I decided to make them happy.
What I wanted to do most was to do it. Q: Please tell us about something that left an impression on you during your military life. UK: There are so many things that I don't know where to start.
(lol). There is something called a squad leader, who is a commander chosen within a squad, and there is training for those chosen as squad leaders. There, they receive training for about a week or two.
There were a lot of seniors there, about 190. I got pretty good grades there, but I guess I was a little bad when it came to using my brain (I couldn't get points).
That's what I thought. Just as I was thinking like that, a member of formerApeace came and told me, ``You better do your best. You're only one point behind the second place student.''
It was given to me. When I realized that I was in first place, I thought I should try harder, and at the end there was a training session where about 10 people gathered together and did it like a real war.
I was able to take first place because I did well as a squad leader. That's what impresses me the most. I won 1st place and got 5 days off. Rest is life (lol). During that holiday, I met with members.
We met, practiced and exercised for this live show, and even practiced driving. I went to a driving school and practiced for about 10 hours, but since it's scary to drive in Korea,
My father told me that I should practice, so I went there. -- Who is the guy who told you the rankings? UK: This is Sehyun hyung. Currently running a shop and working as an actor in Korea.
I am grateful to my brother for giving me the courage to do so. Then, even while everyone else was sleeping, I would study for about two hours, and I would teach them.
My seniors also came and taught me. It was a really good memory. Q: Have your impressions changed since you joined the military?
UK: Before I went to the military, I thought I would be fine in the military because I had worked hard in society for about 10 years.
However, when I entered, it was more than I expected. It was really difficult... But during that time, I met some really good friends, and my classmates were really nice kids. Everyone is younger, but the number of people is small.
Even in the middle of the day, we all supported each other and told each other that we should do our best together. What I'm glad about being in the military is that I was able to meet such friends. I learned a lot by meeting good people.
We have become very strong, and we still keep in touch and meet up occasionally. Q: Are there any special preparations for your first performance in Japan after discharge?
UK: I'm practicing because I want to show you a new dance. Also, the thing that makes me the happiest is that I am starting my solo career.
When we were doing that, the coronavirus had not yet subsided, so we weren't able to hear the voices of our fans (due to restrictions). But this time, I want to listen to the voices of the fans.
I'm looking forward to being able to do it. Q Are you preparing new songs? UK: I don't have any new songs yet, but if I were to make a new song, I'd definitely want to do a really fun dance song.
is not it. While I was in the military, I had made some notes of the lyrics, but I couldn't really compose them while I was in the military, so I thought I'd seriously try writing them once I got out.
. So, it's about to happen. Being in the military, you have a lot of time to think. There were times when I had to be awake, such as in the middle of the night, and I would take notes at those times. As expected, the content of the lyrics is
The thing that comes to mind most is about the fans. The rest was about talking with friends and members. The lyrics come to mind both in Japanese and in Korean.
Q: Is there anything else you would like to do in the future other than being a singer? UK: Thankfully, I have more opportunities to appear in plays and musicals in Japan than other members.
However, I thought that acting was really fun. So, I also wonder what would happen if I acted in Korean. This is a dream, but in Korea
If I can act, I would be happiest if I could dance or sing in Japan. If I could work as an actor, I would like to appear in a TV series or a movie. What is that experience?
There aren't many yet, so I'd like to try it. Q: What kind of role would you like to play? UK: That's good. If I were to do it, I would love a role where I can speak Japanese, and I have a favorite web manga.
However, among the characters in the manga, there is a former Yakuza YouTuber with around 5 million followers. That person has a bad relationship with the main character, but why did that person become bad?
I'd like to play a role like that because it's a cool role with a very sad past. Instead of playing the main character, you play the role of the main character's partner, rival, friend, etc.
I'd like to, that's my dream. Q: The title of the event says "Restart". Is there anything you would like to try again?
UK: What I want to start doing again is music. There are very few opportunities to sing or dance in the military.
Is it okay? However, I had been thinking about the level of my vocals and dancing for a long time while I was in the military, but I hadn't been able to move, so I wanted to start doing it again to improve my level.
vinegar. I had a chance to see a Korean musical called ``MEMPHIS'' starring BTOB's Changsub, and I thought his voice was amazing. So musical haiku
I feel like I want to sing like Yuu. I was so impressed by how well everyone danced, and it gave me goosebumps. Q The Christmas season is almost here, how are you spending your time this year?
Do you want to? UK: I want to take my parents somewhere for Christmas this year. I didn't have many memories with my parents until now, so when I was home all the time on vacation during my military service, I had a lot of memories with them.
He was very happy. So I started going on more dates with my dad. I had dinner with my father and drank coffee, and my father tried a fruit candy called “Tanfuru” for the first time.
We ate a lot and took a photo together. I worked in Japan and enlisted right after I returned to Korea, so I didn't have a chance to spend much time with my parents. But this time, I
I felt happy that we were able to spend more time together. My father also stays at home after work, studying and writing books. I'm currently working on something like that, and the other day I came across a small book.
It's done. I love history, so I helped out with that as well. I'd like to go on a date with my mom, but my mom's second sister just had a child, so I have to take care of the child.
I'm only home on weekends because I watch... But when we're on the weekends, the three of us go on dates. surely. We go out to eat together on Saturdays, and we also spend Sundays together.
Q: If you were to ask Santa Claus for a present, what would you ask for? UK: This winter, right? It's LEGO. I found something the other day and fell in love with it... "crayon
Shin-chan's house was sold at LEGO. I'm wondering whether or not I should buy it. I also like making things like that because I can concentrate on that without thinking about anything. Even in the military
I liked spending time creating things, and I like having time to concentrate on something. I think I'll probably buy it without asking Santa... As a present to myself (lol).
Q: What is the most memorable present you have ever received? UK: After all, this is an album that we received from our fans. From when I debuted a long time ago to where I am now
It's an album with photos of him, and when I look at it, I get the feeling that he's loved so much. I read the letters he sent to the military as soon as they arrived. From night to dawn
There were a lot of times when I had to stay awake until I had to go to bed, so reading it during those times warms my heart. The weather is cold though (lol). Even thinking about it now, I'm still impressed.
Q: What will be the content of "UK's X'mas Fan Meeting 2023" on December 14th?
UK: I think I'll be talking a lot more. All the fans slowly
I want it to feel like they're looking at one person and chatting next to them. I'm planning on singing songs that are perfect for winter, so I hope you'll come.
Q 2023 is almost over, but how do you look back on the year?
UK: I think it was a year of growth. While I am in the military, I will be more diligent in my future activities.
My desire to push myself has also become stronger. I felt glad that I joined the military at that time. It was a fun year. Q: What kind of year do you want next year to be?
UK: I want to use this year to improve myself a little more. There are still things I want to study. I want to study music, but I also want to study other things more diligently.
I would like to continue to do so. I was studying while in the military, but I didn't have enough time. So, I would like to make this year a year where I improve myself in many ways. What I think is necessary
I'm a quick-moving person, but I used to think that studying at high school or university wasn't really necessary for my current career in the entertainment industry.
I think I'll be able to talk to a lot of people, and my father told me so, so I'm going to focus on studying next year and start studying for high school from around January.
Q Lastly, please give a message to your fans. UK: Thank you for waiting for 2 years. Want to meet you very soon. As I meet you and look into your eyes,
I want to hear your voice. I hope that day comes soon. I want to show off my cool self at that time, so I'm going to practice a little more and go to Japan, so please wait a little while.
