'Burning smell' again on Gimpo Gold Line train... Passengers are concerned - South Korea

After reports of a ``burning smell'' coming from inside the trains of the Gimpo Urban Railway, known as the ``Hell Railway,'' the operating company launched another investigation.
According to Gimpo Gold Line Management, the railway operating company on the 6th, around 7:50 a.m. today, ``a fiery incident occurred from a Gimpo Gold Line train.''
There were 3 reports of ``a foul odor''. Mr. A, a passenger on the train, told Yonhap News Agency, ``When I boarded the train from Punmu Station, I could smell the smell of burnt rubber that stung my nose.
"It got worse and worse," he said, adding, "Last night it was the same smell, although it was weaker than today." Furthermore, ``Despite the terrible burning smell, the operating company said, ``We did not get upset.''
``The smell coming from Gochon (Takamura) Station was really bad, so I couldn't help but feel uneasy even after hearing the answer.''
Prior to this, on the 28th of last month at around 7:10 a.m., passengers who boarded a train from Takamura Station to Gimpo Airport reported to the fire department and police that they smelled a burning smell.
There was an example. Mr. B, the whistleblower at the time, said, ``I could smell a burning smell even before I got on the train at Takamura Station, and the smell got even worse after I got on the train,'' adding, ``Since it was packed, I barely managed to turn off my cell phone.
I took it out and called the fire department, and after getting off at Gimpo Airport Station, I also called the police out of fear of an accident.'' The operating company assumed that the burnt odor was caused by foreign matter on the train's tires.
However, it was revealed that the cause was damage to the brake pads. However, due to repeated reports of the burning smell, the operating company moved the train back to the depot and investigated the cause.
I plan to investigate. An official from the operating company said, ``We conducted a detailed inspection, replaced the brake pads, and put the train back in service, but we received a report again.''We're not sure if it's the same reason as last time.
