Defamation allegations against President Yoon... 'News Breaking' representative's house searched

Kim YongJin of ``News Break'' is accused of defaming the reputation of presidential candidate Yoon Seo-gyul (Yun Seok-yeoul) by reporting on the ``allegations of covering up the investigation'' just before the presidential election.
Prosecutors launched a compulsory investigation into the case. On the 6th, the special investigation team of the Seoul Central District Public Prosecutors Office for interference in the presidential election and fabrication of public opinion began this morning investigating information related to the false report on News Break.
It was announced that a search of Kim's residence is underway on suspicion of violating the Information and Communications Network Act (defamation). Prosecutors are targeting Kim, a major shareholder in Hwacheon Daeyu Asset Management.
・Mr. Manbae (Kim Man-bae) had a false interview with Shin Hak-rim (Shin Hak-rim, former chairman of the National Press Labor Union) stating that ``President Yoon covered up the Busan Savings Bank investigation when he was a prosecutor.''
We are investigating the suspicion that he did this. Chairman Shin, who worked as an expert on breaking news, received approximately 165 million won (approximately 185.1 billion yen) from Kim Man-bae and was involved in the presidential campaign.
He is accused of reporting a false interview with Kim in March of last year. Prosecutors say News Breakers tried to influence the presidential election even though they knew the interview was false.
In September of this year, the office of News Break reporter Han Sang-jin was searched on the assumption that he was reporting on the matter for the purpose of promoting the media.
