China rebels against US for handing weapons to Taiwan, ``countermeasures will be taken against related companies''

China has rebelled against the United States, which supplies weapons to Taiwan, and has teased measures against related companies. According to China's state-run Xinhua News Agency on the 19th, Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Wang Wenbin said at a regular meeting on the 18th.
At a press conference, he said, ``No matter how many weapons the United States supplies to the Taiwan region, it cannot interrupt the historical process of China's unification, nor can it shake the will to protect national sovereignty and territorial integrity.''

In this regard, Spokesman Wang said, ``China will take resolute and strong measures to protect national sovereignty and territorial integrity.''
``We will take countermeasures against related companies involved in arms sales to Taiwan.'' The United States supplied arms to Taiwan because of the Shanghai Communiqué, which recognizes the One China principle.
China's position is that it violates the United Nations Declaration. Spokesman Wang said, ``The sale of arms to the Taiwan region seriously undermines China's sovereignty, endangers the peace and stability of the Taiwan Strait, and promotes Taiwan independence and separatist forces.
``The Chinese side firmly opposes this and has expressed its solemn position to the US side.'' Spokesman Wang said, ``The US side firmly adheres to the 'one China' policy and supports Taiwan independence.
"We must stop arming Taiwan and stop supporting Taiwan's separatist forces to achieve independence by force."
