Actor Lee Sung-kyun, who has completed his third interrogation on suspicion of drug use, requested the police to investigate a lie detector.

　According to the legal community, Lee Sung-kyun, who is suspected of violating the Narcotics Control Act, submitted a written opinion through his defense attorney to the Incheon Police Department's Narcotics Crime Investigation Section requesting the investigation of a lie detector on the same day.

　On the 23rd of this month, Lee Sung-kyun turned himself in to the police and completed a 19-hour interrogation, and at that time, he said in front of reporters, "As a victim (of extortion), I have completed the investigation of the accused. I hope that the police will be able to determine whether the statements of me or the extortionist are more credible," he said. He also stated that the only evidence concerning his alleged drug use was the statement of Mr. A, the head of the amusement facility office, and he expressed his position that the credibility of his claims must be determined through the investigation of the lie detector.

　In a telephone interview with a Korean media outlet on March 26, Lee Sung Kyun's attorney commented, "The third investigation was effectively a counter-examination," and that "the police questioned the suspect in the form of, 'Here is Mr. A's statement, but what is your opinion about it.

　He continued, "If Mr. A's statement is correct, the National Forensic Science Institute should have given a positive result, but Mr. Lee Sung Kyun gave a negative result." He added, "It is a very frustrating situation, so Mr. A must undergo a lie detector investigation together with Mr. Lee, and we must scientifically verify whose statement is correct. 　Lee Sung-kyun, who had previously responded to the open summons method, stated, "It is burdensome to have to attend the police again," and that "from now on, I hope the police will summon him privately in accordance with the principle. Lee Sung-kyun's side also refuted Mr. A's statement that "Lee Sung-kyun used drugs at least five times (after coming to this facility)," saying that "Mr. A's claim is not true.
