Another sitting lawmaker from the largest opposition party has left the party...``I can't stay any longer'' = South Korea

South Korea's largest opposition party, the Democratic Party of Korea (DP), which is worsening due to factional friction in the National Assembly general election (April 10th), is currently facing a situation where active members of the National Assembly are
Many have left the party one after another. Rep. Seol Hoon, who served five terms, also left the party on the 28th, following a ``non-Lee Jae-myung'' lawmaker.
There are concerns within and outside the Democratic Party that there is a risk of mass defections from the party in the run-up to the general election.
There are voices demanding that Representative Ng (Lee Jae-myung) take measures to resolve the situation. Congressman Seol held a press conference at the National Assembly this morning, saying, ``Lee Jae-myung, not the people, is the 'Bulletproof' of the individual (not the people's welfare) (from the government and ruling party).
I can no longer remain in the Democratic Party, which only cares about preventing attacks,'' he said, officially declaring his departure from the party.
He continued, ``The reason why he criticized Lee, who is now omnipotent, as he is.''
"When I was told that I would be placed in the bottom 10% of the Democratic Party, everything I had built up and fought for in the Democratic Party was negated," he said, emphasizing that the Democratic Party's public elections are held unfairly.
Rep. Seol said, ``The driving force behind the Democratic Party's continued existence over the past 40 years, and the reason why the people have trusted the Democratic Party, is precisely whether the Democratic Party's democratization efforts have been working properly.
"The Democratic Party has now transformed into a totalitarian 'private party' controlled by Representative Lee, rather than a democratically elected party," he said.
He also said, ``Representative Lee makes all decisions between himself and his close aides, and
"They have removed all those who go against the rules and are keeping only those who are loyal to Representative Lee on their side."
