``17 Korean hospitals'' selected in the ``World's Best Hospitals'' ranking

Several Korean hospitals were named in Newsweek's ``World's Best Hospital Ranking''. Since all but one location are located in the metropolitan area, the metropolitan area is the center of Korean medical care.
The phenomenon of concentration became apparent. The ``2024 World's Best Hospitals'' was published on the Newsweek website on the 5th.
According to the 2024) ranking, there were 17 Korean hospitals in the 250th place. Seoul/Asan Hospital ranks highest at 22nd place, followed by Samsung Seoul Hospital at 34th place.
Brans Hospital ranked 40th, Seoul University Hospital ranked 43rd, Bundang Seoul University Hospital ranked 81st, and Gangnam Severance Hospital ranked 94th.
Although the 17 hospitals were on par with the world's leading medical institutions, the seriousness of the phenomenon of concentration in the metropolitan area was also exposed. Among these hospitals, hospitals located outside the metropolitan area
Only one hospital, Daegu Catholic University Hospital, was included, and no regional national hospitals, or core national university hospitals, were included.
On the other hand, Japan had 15 fewer hospitals in the ranking than South Korea. Of these, outside the metropolitan area
There were seven hospitals. The highest ranked hospital was the University of Tokyo Hospital (18th), followed by St. Luke's International Hospital (24th) and Kameda Medical Center (45th).
