The director's office announced that the father, Mr. A, in his 40s, has been detained and indicted on suspicion of murder and abandonment of the body. The biological mother, Mr. B (in her 30s), was first handed over to the court on the 29th of last month.
The couple, who are common-law, gave birth to a baby boy on December 29th last year at a hospital in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province.
The baby died in the trunk of a car, but it is suspected that the body was abandoned in a forest in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province on the morning of the 21st of last month.
On the 6th of last month, police responded to a report that there was something that looked like the body of a baby in the forest, and the next day they found Mr.
Mr. B was arrested. On January 8, 10 days after giving birth, Mr. A got in a car with Mr. B, who had been discharged from the hospital, and moved from motel to motel and ate meals in the car.
He was abandoned in the ranks and was presumed dead. Until now, Mr. B has admitted the charges, but Mr. A has denied the charges, saying he did not know about them.
