[Full text] OMEGA X's former management office: ”No hasty conclusions should be reached...Further procedures will be carried out” regarding exclusive contract dispute

Spire Entertainment refuted the arbitration decision of the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board in relation to the exclusive contract dispute of 'OMEGA X'.

On the 1st, Spire Entertainment stated, "First of all, the exclusive contract dispute with the members of 'OMEGA X' is ongoing separately in the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board and the Seoul Central District Court, and the lawsuit in the Seoul Central District Court is ongoing, so we cannot make a hasty conclusion on the whole exclusive contract dispute. The case is currently ongoing in the Seoul Central District Court, so we must not reach a hasty conclusion on the entire exclusive contract dispute.

Meanwhile, OMEGA X held a press conference in November 2022, exposing verbal abuse and sexual harassment by representatives of their former agency Spire, and filed a provisional injunction action to suspend the validity of their exclusive contract. She won the case in January last year, terminated her exclusive contract with Spire and set up a new base at her new agency, IPQ Entertainment, in July of the same year. On the 1st, 'OMEGA X' announced that they had received a decision to terminate their exclusive contract.

Hello, this is Spire Entertainment.
We would like to clarify our position regarding the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board's arbitration decision on the exclusive contract dispute of 'OMEGA X'.

First of all, the exclusive contract dispute with the members of OMEGA X is ongoing separately at the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board and the Seoul Central District Court, and the lawsuit at the Seoul Central District Court is currently ongoing, so we cannot hastily conclude the entire exclusive contract dispute.

In addition, the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board's arbitration award has not made a decision on the tampering claim and does not reflect the results of the related criminal case, and we plan to proceed with additional proceedings such as revocation of the arbitration award through legal review depending on the results of the disposition by the Fair Trade Commission and the investigative body.

It has been determined that the grounds for the termination of the exclusive contract are the same as the grounds for citation of the provisional disposition, namely the breakdown of mutual trust. The criminal case, which has not yet been decided, and the tampering case filed with the Fair Trade Commission are viewed separately from the grounds for termination of the exclusive contract, with the breakdown of mutual trust being the main factor in the decision.

Under the above circumstances, the position statement released by IPQ, which claims to have signed exclusive contracts with the members of OMEGA X, does not clarify that the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board's decision is a decision against some of the members and that it is not a decision against the three-party agreement between the Company and Danal Entertainment, even though they are not parties to the agreement. Despite not being a party to the agreement, they have repeatedly made baseless claims and have not hesitated to make defamatory statements while discussing the real names of certain people.

Finally, the Company is sincerely investigating the ongoing civil litigation, the Fair Trade Commission and the criminal case, and will reveal only the truth based on the results of the disciplinary action. However, the Company will take firm action against any attempts to unduly influence ongoing investigations and other matters, or to spread falsehoods, and will once again strongly state that no good will come from the outcome of such actions. Please do not be misled by unsubstantiated claims or the dissemination of speculative falsehoods, and we hope that you will make a decision before any further legal consequences take place. Thank you.
