A woman escapes barefoot after bleaching treatment...Leaving a note at a hair salon (South Korea)
The owner of a beauty salon has expressed his frustration after a customer who had treated him for an expensive bleaching treatment ran off without paying, leaving only a note, in what is known as a "dine and dash" spree.
According to information provided to JTBC's "Case Leader" on the 12th of this month, on the 9th of this month, a man visited a beauty salon run by an informant without making a reservation.
The owner, Mr. A, told him to come back in an hour because there were customers and it was difficult to treat him. The man said he understood and left the store, but returned a minute or two later and said, "I have no other plans to go."
"There is no place to go, so I'll wait here for about an hour." After an hour, the man chose an expensive bleaching product and had the treatment. The bleaching cost 64,000 won (about 7,100 yen).
However, while paying, the man searched his pockets and even put his bag down pretending to look for his wallet, then suddenly placed a note on the counter and ran out of the store.
The note read, "I am 22 years old and want to be a writer, but I am struggling financially right now and have no money. I will definitely repay this favor later when I have made a lot of money."
The description of the man was written on the wall. Surprised, Ms. A immediately ran after the man and left the salon. However, the man had taken off his shoes and run off barefoot. He seemed to know the way well and was hiding in alleys.
In the end, Mr. A was unable to catch the man. Mr. A said, "The note was not written in advance, but was written while waiting at the store. The owner was working alone.
"It seems like they knew about it and planned it," he said angrily. In fact, CCTV footage showed a man sitting in a chair at the salon and writing something.
In addition to the note left by the man, another note was also found. It said, "I also have panic disorder and I'm not feeling well, but I'm overcoming it.
"I was moved when I saw the owner empathize with the customer's words," said A. "I empathized with the story of another customer who had been in a traffic accident, so I wrote the following message.
"I thought that the same thing might happen to other stores in the area, so I decided to report it," he said, adding, "I've already submitted the CCTV footage and the memo to the police."
Attorney Park Ji Hoon said, "I don't understand. It may be subject to the Minor Crime Punishment Act, but if he is a habitual offender, he received services under the pretense of paying and then fled without paying.
It could even be considered fraud," he said.
