Wreaths lined up in front of the National Assembly's Constitutional Hall, photographed by South Korean news agency Yonhap News, read "We love you, Chairman Han Dong-hoon," and "The people are waiting for you."
There were also messages of support such as, "Please come back," "We want to see our hope, Han Dong-hoon," and "Please fight against criminals as the representative of the party."
The word "fellow citizens" that the chairman used during his campaign also stood out. On the 11th of this month, former chairman Han held a press conference and commented on the ruling party's crushing defeat in the general elections (April 10th)
When asked if he would continue in politics, Han said, "I will keep the promises I made."
"I will ponder how to regain the love of the people," he said. "It will not be an easy path, but if I focus only on the people, I think I will be able to see the path.
I think so," he said.
