President Yoon speaks with Prime Minister Kishida by phone... ”promise close cooperation between Japan, South Korea, Japan, the US and South Korea” = South Korean media

President Yoon Seok-yeol held a 15-minute telephone conversation with Prime Minister Kishida on the 17th at his suggestion. Prime Minister Kishida explained the results of his visit to the United States and the progress of Japan-U.S. relations.
"We would like to continue cooperating with South Korea as a partner as we respond to the various issues facing the international community based on strong Japan-U.S.-South Korea cooperation," he said.
In response, President Yoon said, "In the current situation where the international situation, including on the Korean Peninsula and in the Indo-Pacific region, is becoming unstable, I would like to promote close cooperation between Japan and South Korea, and between Japan, the United States and South Korea.
The two leaders also shared views on their respective countries' responses to North Korea, and called for close cooperation between Japan, the ROK, and Japan, the United States and the ROK on issues related to North Korea.
The two countries will continue to hold summit meetings this year to maintain the solid relationship of trust that was built through seven summit meetings last year and the friendly atmosphere that has been created between the two countries.
They agreed to continue communication at the diplomatic level and work to further develop relations between the two countries.
