Daegu Mayor Hong Jun-pyo has accused Han Dong-hoon, former chairman of the People Power Party's emergency response committee, of being a deposed emperor who had lashed out at his master.
Mayor Hong compared Han to a prince and strongly criticized his move to return to politics. On the 18th, Mayor Hong said about former emergency response committee chairman Han, "He pretended to be the crown prince of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration, but he was supported by some of President Yoon's ardent supporters.
"It was President Yoon's shadow, and not an independent variable," Mayor Hong said in a Facebook post on the same day, saying, "The Crown Prince was unaware of this and attacked his master.
"He has been deposed and has no independent power within or outside the party," he added. "When Hwang Kyo-ahn left the party after ruining the general election, he had been in control of the party for more than a year.
Is there any room for the People Power Party to once again accept former Chairman Han, who was unable to return and ruined the ruling party's general election in an unprecedented way?"
He added, "Please stop writing novels and help us regroup and rise again. That is the revival of the Korean conservative right.
"This is the way forward," he emphasized.
