Pharmaceutical company HLB establishes Boston office, aiming for global expansion and collaboration with major companies (Korea)
Pharmaceutical company HLB has announced that it has opened a local office, the Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC), in Boston, USA.
CIC will strengthen collaboration between HLB and its group companies in the U.S., while also promoting the group companies' overseas new drug development.
The role of the company is to support technological development, discover new materials, and promote joint research with overseas companies. In particular, after securing liquidity through sales of new drugs for liver cancer, HLB will acquire US companies with high technological capabilities through CIC.
The plan is to acquire a national biotechnology company and build a new network with excellent companies. Prior to this, HLB established a local subsidiary, HLB Biosciences, in the state of Delaware in the United States in March.
The establishment of CIC is part of the "K Blockbuster Global Expansion Project" implemented by the Korea Health Industry Development Institute.
The project was selected to support Korean bio-companies in moving into the innovation office "C&D (Connect & Development)."
In connection with this, Boston is home to research and development centers of global pharmaceutical companies, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Harvard University, and other universities.
It is home to many of the world's leading universities and over 400 venture capital firms. Not only are universities and companies collaborating, but technological innovation is also taking place in a wide range of fields.
