China's second domestically-built large cruise ship, the H1509, has had its keel-laying ceremony held - Chinese media

On the 20th, the keel-laying ceremony for the H1509, the second domestically produced large cruise ship, was held at the No. 2 dock of the Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipyard, under the China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC).
The H1509 is being built by China Cruise Science and Technology Development Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), just like the first domestic ship, the Adora Magic City.
The H1509 has a gross tonnage of 142,000 tons, an overall length of 341 meters, a width of 37.2 meters, a design draft of 8.17 meters, and a maximum
It has a draft of 8.4 meters, a maximum speed of 22.7 knots, and 2,144 cabins. Compared to the first ship, the gross tonnage has increased by 6,500 tons and the overall length by 17.4 meters. The number of cabins is 19.
The H1509 will have 16 floors and living and entertainment areas, just like the first ship, but the public and leisure areas will be larger, allowing passengers to spend their time more comfortably and enjoyably.
According to the construction schedule, the H1509 will be launched in May 2025, will leave the dock at the end of March 2026, and will undergo trial voyages in June of the same year.
The ship will be named and delivered by the end of the year. Meanwhile, China's first domestically-built large cruise ship, the Aida-Madu, began operations on January 1 of this year and has made 26 trips so far.
The voyage was completed safely, and over 100,000 passengers from Japan and abroad enjoyed traveling on the cruise ship.
