Shanghai to hold light-up event in September, spending expected to reach 2 billion former - Chinese report

The light-up event "Shanghai International Light and Shadow Festival" will be held from September 19 to October 18. The Shanghai Municipal Greening Management Bureau announced this on the 24th.
The Shanghai International Light and Shadow Festival will open on the 19th, with the 20th open to the press and the 21st to 27th to the general public.
The small venue event will be held from September 21 to October 18 in Pudong New District, Huangpu District, Jing'an District, Xuhui District, and other areas.
The event schedule will be held in 12 districts, each of which will last for more than seven days. Related information will be announced in early September.
The city will complete the construction of the city's landscape lighting in 12 years and create a world-class model of urban landscape lighting by 2035.
The aim is to present a "glowing, dazzling city night view" through the use of light. Regular light-up events are also held to promote the results of the landscape lighting construction.
An official from the Shanghai Greenery Management Bureau said that if the Shanghai International Light and Shadow Festival is held, it is expected to attract a total of more than 7.5 million visitors, generating 2 billion former (approximately 43 billion yen) in consumption.
