The Navarra plant covers an area of 150,000 square metres and a total floor area of 50,000 square metres, and can produce up to 360,000 BSAs per year.
The company plans to invest approximately 170 billion won (approximately 19.19 billion yen) in the Navarra plant by 2030 to build cutting-edge electrification-related facilities.
The plant will be used as an electrification-related plant. The BSA cars produced here will ultimately be supplied to German automaker Volkswagen (VW).
The battery will be installed in electric vehicles (EVs) mass-produced at Volkswagen's Pamplona plant in Seoul. Hyundai Mobis had previously signed a large-scale supply contract with VW for BSA in 2023.
Jeong In-bo, general manager of the company's Spanish electrification plant, said, "In the future, we will strive to diversify not only the models for which we offer BSA, but also our customers in the European region."
The company is building production bases around the world and expanding its production scale. It is building factories to manufacture core electrification components not only in Spain but also in the United States and Indonesia.
Currently, BSA operates factories in Korea, China and the Czech Republic.
