South Korea's President Yoon's approval rating hits lowest in 21 months
A poll was released on the 29th showing that South Korean President Yoon Seok-yeol's approval rating hit its lowest in 21 months. President Yoon's approval rating has fallen for three consecutive weeks.
The results of a survey conducted by the South Korean polling agency Realmeter on the 22nd to 26th of this month among 2,518 voters aged 18 and over during the fourth week of April showed that President Yoon's approval rating was 30.2%.
His approval rating recorded 37.3% in the survey conducted in the first week of April, and has continued to fall for three weeks, dropping to 32.6% in the second week, 32.3% in the third week, and 30.2% in the fourth week.
The approval rating this time is also the lowest since the lowest point in the first week of August 2022 (29.3%). Disapproval increased 2.6% from the previous survey to 66.9%, and the number of people who answered "I don't know" was 1.3%.
Meanwhile, a survey of party approval ratings conducted by Realmeter on the 25th and 26th among 1,004 voters aged 18 and over showed that the ruling People's Power Party had 34.1% and the Communist Party had 2.8%.
The Democratic Party of Japan was ranked 35.1% in the survey. The ruling party's approval rating fell 1.7% from the previous survey, while the Democratic Party of Japan rose 0.1%.
Next are the Fatherland Reform Party with 13.5%, the New Reform Party with 6.2%, the New Future Party with 1.8%, and the Progressive Party with 1.1%.
The Democratic Party was voted the "Party of Japan" at 1.6%, followed by other political parties at 2.7%, while independents made up 5.0%.
