Regarding the proposal, he said, "As an urgent solution to the current medical confusion, I would like to see a one-year delay in increasing the number of medical students, with resident doctors and medical students reverting to their former status, and I hope that an agreement can be reached through the consultation body on a gradual increase in the number of students."
On the same day, Rep. Lee wrote on Facebook, "The most urgent issue facing the Republic of Korea right now is the right to receive medical treatment when sick. I want all citizens to be able to receive medical treatment and live happily."
"The ruling and opposition parties should not only represent their factions, but also the Korean people. We should leave party politics and mudslinging in the museum as relics of the past, and work together to create a better future for Korea," he said.
"I hope that they will come to an agreement on a broader framework through governance by sitting head to head," he said.
"I propose that we first set aside the beliefs and ethics that the party aspires to, and instead embrace the will of the people and govern together based on an ethic of responsibility for Korea."
