Cho Kuk, chairman of the Fatherland Reform Party, says, ”The special prosecutor's bill is already ready” (South Korea)
Cho Kuk, chairman of the Fatherland Reform Party, said on the 29th that the bill for the so-called "Han Dong-hoon Special Prosecutor Act" is "already prepared."
In an interview on MBC Radio's "Kim Jong-bae's Focus" that day, Cho said, "We are the first to pass this special prosecutor's law.
If it is submitted as a bill, the government will have to consult with the Democratic Party (the opposition party) on when and how to proceed with the bill. The next issue of the order of passage of the bill will have to be discussed with the Democratic Party.
"We made this pledge during the general election and will definitely keep it," he said. "In the Democratic Party, only Han Dong-hoon, former chairman of the People's Power Party's emergency response committee, has been promoted to a higher rank.
In response to a question from the moderator along the lines of, "I hear there is an atmosphere of caution because of the fear that the government may lose its power. What do you think about this?", he replied, "I don't particularly care whether former Chairman Han's rank increases or decreases."
"That is political engineering thinking," he said. "The living power that former Chairman Han himself advocated when he was the prosecutor general, that is, the power he advocated while serving under then-Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol, is the same as the living power that former Chairman Han advocated when he was the prosecutor general.
It is right to apply the same investigation into the former fighter to him as it is, and what does it matter whether the weight class is heavyweight or featherweight?"
Regarding the possibility of Han taking part in the People Power Party leadership election, he said, "The choice (of party leader) is the choice of the People Power Party members.
"I believe that former Chairman Han has already been judged by the people in the general election," he said. "The question of whether he should be re-elected as the representative of the People's Power is something that they themselves should decide. If the People's Power
If he returns to the position of leader, won't he become a living power once again, since he is the leader of the ruling party? Therefore, I think he should undergo a more thorough investigation, including through the special prosecutor law."
Earlier, on the 25th, the Fatherland Reform Party elected Rep. Hwang Un-ha as its first floor leader. Rep. Hwang said that the first pledge of the party in the general election was to propose the Han Dong-hoon Special Prosecutor Act.
In response to a question about the special prosecutor bill, Rep. Hwang said, "The cooperation of the Democratic Party is absolutely necessary. I have already served as the 21st National Assembly president.
"I've been discussing this with the Democratic Party while serving as the floor leader as the only active member of the Fatherland Reform Party in the party," he said.
"Whether it's Chairman Cho Kuk or me, no matter what the court's ruling is, we will faithfully prepare for the aftermath and create a sustainable and developing political system that faithfully reflects the support of voters.
We will show the face of the party," he said.
