<Women's Golf> Lee Jung-min wins her first major tournament in 14 years since debut
Lee Jung-min (32) attended the LAKEWOOD event in Yangju, Gyeonggi-do on the 28th.
CC will host the KLPGA Championship CREAS final, the first major tournament of the season, and the fourth round
She won the championship with a total of 23 under par 265, beating 2nd place Jeong Ye-seong (23) by four strokes. This is her 11th championship in her 14 years on the KLPGA Tour.
This is Lee Jung-min's first major championship victory. She received 234 million won (approximately 26.6 million yen) in prize money, and has risen to the top of the prize money rankings this season.
Lee Jung-min also tied for the lowest score in the tournament. He took the lead by cutting 10 strokes in the third round, including a hole-in-one, and finally won the round with a godlike birdie.
Lee Jung-min said, "My shot feeling has improved a lot since last week, and my shots have been good throughout this tournament. In the second round, I putted well.
I didn't do well, so I just practiced putting on the green after that, but it seemed to pay off in the third and fourth rounds." Lee Jung-min, who made his tour debut in 2010, has won 1
Lee Jung-min said, "Until now, I have never thought of major tournaments as separate events, so I have never won a major tournament."
I thought I had to do well in every tournament, but after actually winning a major tournament, the title "Major" feels really good," he said. "Especially since the other players were not good.
"I'm even happier because I won because I did well and I was able to win," she said. Jung Ye-seong also reduced her score by 12 strokes in the final round of this tournament and was in contention for the championship, but she was ranked 1st in the KLPGA Tour.
She tied the record for the fewest strokes in the 8-hole standard and had to be satisfied with the runner-up finish.
Shin Ji-ae, Ahn Shin-ae, Lee Ye-won, who was ranked first in the KLPGA Tour prize money ranking last year, and rookie Kim Min-byul will be competing in the "International Championship Salonpas Cup".
Kim Suzy, who placed 4th last season in her first appearance on the LPGA Tour, will be participating for the second consecutive year. We hope that many Korean players will participate in the tournament held in Japan, and that this will help boost Korean women's golf in Japan.
Let's wait.
