Recently, a round-in ceremony was held at the BH Entertainment building in Seoul to celebrate the end of tvN's "Queen of Tears."
Park SungHoon met with Herald POP on the TV show and shared some behind-the-scenes information about the show. The final episode of "Queen of Tears" achieved the highest viewership of all time, bringing the show to a fitting end.
Park Sung-Hoon said, "We finished at 24.8%. We filmed for almost a year, and the atmosphere on set was good, the script was interesting, and I thought it would go well to a certain extent.
"We had high hopes that it would be popular, but we received much more love than we had expected, and we are grateful for that," he said, adding, "As the show continued to rise towards the end, even the actors themselves were saying, 'If we do well, we could become number one in the charts of all time.'
I'm happy that we were able to achieve first place, and it was an honor to be able to do it together." Park Sung-Hoon will be appearing in "The Glory," where he played the school violence perpetrator Jung Jae-Jung.
"Unfortunately, the work in which I played the villain became a hot topic and left a mark on me, but I continued to play good characters in films such as 'Strangers' and 'The Day of Kidnapping.'
"When I first heard that 'Queen of Tears' was written by screenwriter Park Ji-eun, I thought 'I have to do it unconditionally,' and when I read the script, I was very
"It was fun. I'm also a fan of Suhyun, who is younger than me but started working before me, so I was curious about what kind of person he was and thought it would be good to act together," she said, explaining why she participated.
He said, "The directors were worried about him being compared to Jung Jaejung, so they decided to make him different in tone and style.
While Jaejung's style was a bit conspicuous, Eunseong's was made to look gentle.
Also, JAEJUNG tries to be nice to people, if possible, except when he is with Yesol (his real daughter).
Although their attitudes are similar, Eunsung often has to wear a mask. Jaejung has a lot of intonation, but Eunsung has less of that."
Perhaps it was due to the strong image of "The Glory". Park SungHoon continued to be called "Jung Jaejung" and "The man who lost his name".
He also said, "Even at the press conference, I would ask Jung Jaejung questions, and when he was explaining things to me at the venue, he would call me 'Jung Jaejung'."
I still have a lot of experiences like that. Someone organized the casting for "Squid Game 2", but Kang HaNeul, Im Si
"Some people say, 'It's Park Jaejung, Park Jae-seong, Yoon Jae-hoon,' but
"There are so many different names that I'm confused," he said, laughing. Nevertheless, he showed a positive attitude towards the reaction.
"Isn't there someone out there who explained it like this?
Those people were able to hear it, but now when they hear my name Jung Jaejung, they remember me, so I feel good. I now have a name that reminds them of my face with just three letters."
In "Queen of Tears" I always called her JAEJUNG, but at the end there were people who called me Eunseong, so on the one hand I feel lucky.
I hope that one day I will be remembered with just the three letters Park SungHoon.
"To be honest, even after my debut, the thought of changing my name has been on my mind for a while now," he said, "I just want to be the most famous Park SungHoon.
My goal and hope is that one day I will be remembered by all Koreans, just like my 'Na Bu-deuk' hyung (Cho) Jung-seok hyung."
On the other hand, he said, "Actually, I was given a name recently. They said it would be better if I changed it to Park Dae Yoon. But it would be a waste of the Park Sung Hoon that I have built up until now.
There are quite a few people who remember me," he whispered.
