About 16.23 million tourists visit Shanghai over Labor Day holiday, up 3.77% from the same period last year - Chinese media

The Labor Day holiday (May 1st to 5th) has ended in China. According to a big data analysis of Shanghai's tourism, the number of tourists who visited the city during the holiday period was 16,239,400, up from the previous year.
The total number of tourists visiting major tourist spots was 7.32 million, up 15% from the same period last year.
The total number of tourists at 147 museums increased by 38.4% year-on-year to 825,700, and the number of tourists at 64 art museums increased by 20.4% year-on-year to 825,700.
The total number of tourists increased by 48.7% year-on-year to 251,900. The total number of tourists in the three open tourist areas of The Bund, Yuyuan Garden, and Xiaolu Jiazui increased by 0.29% year-on-year to 5,467,200.
In addition, the total number of tourists who visited the city's six historical preservation areas reached 2,863,100. During the same period, a total of 820 performances were held at various venues in the city, attracting 1,000,000 spectators.
