It was found that the number of overseas passengers in the first quarter (January to March) of South Korea's regional airlines increased by 81% compared to the same period last year.

The total number of passengers using international flights at the seven destinations was 4,525,749, an 81.0% increase from the same period last year (2,499,814).
The airport's international passenger numbers increased by 50.5%. This increase is said to be the result of low-cost carriers (LCCs) departing from regional airlines to increase their international routes.
The airport with the most passengers was Gimpo Airport (2,180,709 passengers). Cheongju Airport also saw an increase in passenger numbers during the same period this year (388,568 passengers) compared to the first quarter of last year (3,592 passengers).
