Actor Lee Do Hyun, currently in the Air Force, mentions girlfriend after winning Best New Actor in the Film category... ”Thank you, Ji-Yeon” = ”Baeksang Arts Awards”

Actor Lee Do-hyun drew attention when he mentioned his girlfriend, actress Im Ji-yeon, in his thoughts on winning the Best Newcomer Award.

　Lee Do-hyun won the Best Male Newcomer Acting Award in the film category at the 60th Baeksang Arts Awards held at the COEX Hall in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, on the afternoon of the 7th (today).

　While Kim Sung-ho (The Noble Prince), Kim Young-seong (Big Sleep), Joo Jung-hyuk of (One Millionth of a Second), and Hong Sabin (Hwarang) were nominated, Lee Do-hyun became the hero of the Best Newcomer award for his first screen debut, "Exhuma."

　Lee Do-hyun stood in front of the microphone wearing an Air Force uniform and saluting. He greeted the audience by saying, "I'm Im Dong-hyun, a senior soldier, and my name is Lee Do-hyun, who was an actor in the past.

　He said, "I actually got out of the army this morning. I was told to prepare my thoughts on the award, but I regret that I did not. I am truly grateful to director Jang Jae-hyun for choosing me for the film Exhuma", he said tearfully.

　He continued, "I was very happy to be able to act with him. I am grateful to Choi Min-sik, Yoo Hye-jin, (Kim) Go-eun, and all the other senior actors." He added, "During the filming of Exhuma, we were shooting two separate films together, which could have caused problems with our schedules and could have caused damage. However, I would like to thank my seniors and my sister for taking care of me and comforting me by telling me to work harder and take good care of myself," he said.

　Lee Do-hyun said, "It was difficult to play the role of Bong-gil in Exhuma. I hated the director. I thought it was a big chance and a challenge, and I worked hard to prepare for it. I can do better next time. I hope you will use me again next time" he added jokingly.

　He added, "My loving father, mother, brother, my pet dog Ga-eul, and (Im) Ji-young, thank you so much," he said, drawing cheers as he referred to Im Ji-young, who was watching over him below the stage.

　He said, "I heard that Baeksoo will be 60 years old this year. When I reach my birthday, I will be 40 years old, so I will be eagerly going forward so that I can be Lee Do-hyun, who will challenge for the Best Acting Award at that time. After today, I will do my best in my military service as a soldier Im Dong-hyun and come back next May as Lee Do-hyun," he concluded.

　The MC of the "Baeksang Art Awards" was Shin Dong-yup, Suzy (ex-Miss A), and actor Park Bo-gum, who continued to be the MC of the event. This year's award was given to content provided on terrestrial TV, general TV channels, cable-OTT, and the web from April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024, as well as Korean feature films and plays that were released in Korea during the same period. After conducting a preliminary questionnaire for each category with 60 industry experts, the judges for each category, who were nominated by a group of experts representing TV, film, and theater, selected the finalists through a rigorous screening process.
