The program provides support for foreign workers (those with a work permit) to adapt to life in Korea. Non-professional foreign workers are workers who do low-skilled jobs and are employed by Korean employers with permission from the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
This time, the post office will provide medicines and meal kits necessary for adapting to Korea to foreigners working at the Geoje Shipyard.
In light of this, we will also introduce low-cost phone services, as well as post office debit cards, overseas remittances, and discounts for sending via EMS.
On May 2, Geoje Post Office staff offered low-cost forums to about 20 foreign workers at the Geoje Shipyard.
The workers from Indonesia explained the various postal services, including postal mail, and provided relief items. One worker said, "I got a bankbook and a card from the post office, and I was also given a discount on EMS to send to my hometown."
"I'm grateful to learn from them," he said. Geoje Shipyard also plans to provide specialized training for foreign talent, including technical and safety education, for three to four weeks after their arrival.
