Kim Hye-kyung, wife of Lee Jae-myung, the leader of South Korea's largest opposition party, the Democratic Party of Korea, appeared at Lee's public activities on the 4th of this month for the first time in about two years and three months.
According to the Korean political world on the 6th, CEO Lee and his wife Kim attended a Children's Day event held in Incheon on the 4th, the day before Children's Day.
The couple's appearance together was broadcast live on Lee's YouTube channel. Lee said, "This is the first time since the presidential election that a couple has attended an event together. It's been more than two years since the last time we attended an event together."
"I think it's been a while since I've been here," said Lee. He also said, "It's always fun to meet the children," and asked Kim with a laugh, "What about you?"
Mrs. Kim walked hand in hand with Lee and posed for photos with local residents. "When Lee was governor of Gyeonggi Province, his secretary accompanied him and gave him a corporate card," Mrs. Kim said.
He has not been seen in public since holding an apology press conference in February 2022 after being accused of "paying for meals and other expenses through the internet."
