Medical student who murdered girlfriend admits to ”planned crime”... stabbed victim more than 20 times in the carotid artery (South Korea)
A medical student from a prestigious university, surnamed Choi (25), who murdered his girlfriend with a deadly weapon on the rooftop of a building near Gangnam Station in Seoul, has been found dead on the 20th of the same day.
It was revealed that the victim had stabbed herself more than once. The suspect, Choi, admitted that it was a planned crime. According to the police on the 9th, the autopsy on the body of the victim, Mr. A (25), revealed that the cause of death was "excessive bleeding due to the murder weapon."
The Seocho Police Station in Seoul confirmed that Choi stabbed A in the carotid artery in her neck, and is currently investigating the case with an emphasis on the possibility that it was a "planned crime."
According to a police investigation, Choi had purchased the murder weapon at a supermarket in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, about two hours before the crime.
A netizen who identified herself as A's sister wrote on A's Instagram, "When my sister told Choi that she wanted to break up with him, he suddenly called her.
"The victim said he wanted to die and tried to jump off the roof several times," the report said. "His sister tried to stop him from trying to die out of kindness, but she was caught up in Choi's planned crime and was stabbed multiple times with a weapon.
"Choi also admitted that it was a planned crime. Choi's lawyer said, "(Choi) admitted to the crime and that although it was not a crime that he planned for a long time, he did plan it.
On the 6th of this month, at around 5pm, Choi jumped from the roof of a 15-story building near the Gangnam Station intersection in Seocho-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul, killing his girlfriend A, a university student of the same age.
He is suspected of stabbing and killing a man multiple times with a deadly weapon. On the day of the incident, police responded to the scene after receiving a report that a man was about to jump off the roof, and rescued suspect Choi.
Later, based on Choi's statement that he had left a bag containing drugs behind, the police found the victim while checking the scene again, and arrested Choi at around 6 p.m.
The victim was already dead. The victim and suspect Choi were classmates in junior high school, and during police investigations, suspect Choi stated that he committed the crime because his girlfriend asked him to break up with her, and that he was a medical student.
In fact, Choi was found to have been a perfect scorer on the College Scholastic Aptitude Test (equivalent to the common entrance exam for universities in Japan) and a medical student at a prestigious university in Seoul.
Choi was detained yesterday due to fears that he might flee. Police plan to conduct further investigations on him while he is in custody and then refer him to the prosecution in the near future.
