Kim Ra-a (26, changed her name to Kim Seung-hyun), who brandished a weapon at her lover and her mother who came to her home to say goodbye, killing her lover and seriously injuring her mother, was arrested on suspicion of murder by lawyer 10.
According to the Korean legal profession on the 10th, the Suwon District Court will hold a trial for the defendant Kim, who was arrested and indicted on charges of murder, on the 23rd of this month at 10:20 a.m.
Kim is preparing for trial by appointing 10 lawyers. Although not all of the lawyers are directly involved in the trial, some former officials (former judges, prosecutors, etc.)
In cases where a person has a strong connection or academic background, simply having their name on the list can have an impact on the trial. On March 25th of this year, around 9:35 a.m., Kim shot himself at his home in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province.
He is suspected of brandishing a weapon several times at his girlfriend, Ms. A (21), and her mother, Ms. B, at an officetel (office-residential combination home), resulting in the death of Ms. A and serious injuries to Ms. B.
Ms. A had been in a relationship with Kim for about three months, but due to Kim's obsession and violent nature, she decided to break up and visited the officetel. Kim was not accepting the breakup easily.
Thinking that the victim was a spy, he visited her home with her mother, Ms. B, but both mother and daughter suffered a tragic experience. Defendant Kim was so cruel that he chased the victim as she tried to escape and attacked her with a weapon.
He stabbed A in the stomach and chest, and brandished the weapon at B. Both A and B were seriously injured in the incident and taken to the hospital, where A died during treatment.
The day before the crime, Kim posted a photo of the Joker, a villain from the Batman movie series, on his social media account, along with a line from the character.
It has been pointed out that this is a prelude to the upcoming murder. The prosecution released Kim's mugshot on April 22. This is a move that allows investigative agencies to forcibly photograph and release the faces of suspects in serious crimes.
This was the first case in which a mugshot was made public under the so-called "mugshot disclosure law" (law on the disclosure of personal information of suspects of certain serious crimes, etc.).
