Prime Minister Kishida expressed his enthusiasm for Japan-Korea cooperation. According to Kyodo News, on the 13th, Prime Minister Kishida met with Korean business leaders who were visiting Japan to attend the Japan-Korea Businessmen's Conference at the Prime Minister's Office in Tokyo.
Noting that next year will mark the 60th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Japan and South Korea, he said, "We hope to foster the seeds of various forms of cooperation and mutual understanding."
Regarding the Japan-Korea Business Conference to be held in Tokyo from the 14th to the 15th, he said, "In the future,
Kim Yoon, chairman of the Japan-Korea Economic Association (and chairman of Samyang Holdings), responded to Kishida's remarks by saying, "We hope that economic activity will proceed smoothly.
"I ask for the cooperation of both governments to achieve this goal," he said. Chairman Kim Yoon and President Choi Tae-won will attend the 56th Japan-Korea Business Conference, which will be held under the theme of "Japan-Korea Partnership for the Future."
Approximately 300 business leaders from both countries are expected to attend, including the Chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Chairman of SK Group) and Mikio Sasaki, Chairman of the Japan-Korea Economic Association (former Chairman of Mitsubishi Corporation).
