South Korean President Yoon holds dinner with ruling party leaders to reflect on general election
On the 13th, South Korean President Yoon Seok-yeol led a group including Hwang Woo-yo, who was appointed as the new chairman of the People Power Party's emergency response committee, to Hannam-dong in the capital Seoul.
I invited him to a presidential residence for dinner. The dinner was a forum for exchanging ideas on how to set a new direction for national politics following the results of the general election.
In a press release about the dinner, the presidential office said, "Through his dialogue with the party's new leadership, President Yoon expressed his intention to support the people's will as expressed in the general election.
"I have a deep understanding of the Democratic Party and expressed my strong will to reflect that understanding in the administration of state affairs," he said.
The President's Office also said, "The dinner was held to express appreciation for the new leadership of the party in the difficult period following the general election.
"The meeting was held to express our gratitude and to confirm our common understanding that the ruling party must play an active role in addressing important issues in national politics, particularly issues related to people's livelihoods," he said.
Attendees included Chairman Hwang Yu, floor leader Chu Kyung-ho, Uhm Tae Yeon, Yoo Sang-beom, Jeon Ju-hye, and Kim Yong-tae.
