”I mixed cold medicine and other drugs to make illegal drugs”... A man in his 20s who turned himself in was sentenced to four years in prison in South Korea
A man in his 20s who manufactured methamphetamine by mixing cold medicine and other drugs, then sold and used it, was sentenced to four years in prison.
The Cheonan Branch of the Prosecutor's Office sentenced Defendant A (25), who was arrested and indicted for violating the Narcotics Control Law, to four years in prison. It also ordered him to complete an 80-hour drug addiction rehabilitation program.
Defendant A was on trial on suspicion of manufacturing approximately 18 grams of methamphetamine by mixing cold medicines at his home and other locations between July 2022 and February last year.
During this period, he was also accused of selling and using Methamphetamine for 18 consecutive years.
After turning himself in to the police, Defendant A used Methamphetamine while being investigated at home. However, Defendant A was not active in the city.
The court ruled that the defendants could not have produced methamphetamine in quantities sufficient for illegal trade, and that, "considering the amount of methamphetamine they handled and the duration of their crimes, they contributed to the distribution and spread of illegal drugs."
Considering these points, the crime is serious and he is in a state of serious methamphetamine intoxication and requires considerable isolation," the court said. "The sentence was decided after taking into consideration the fact that he turned himself in and demonstrated his intention to quit drugs."
